Chelsea Target Romelu Lukaku Tells Everton He Wants To Leave

As the Premier League transfer window enters its final month, Everton star Romelu Lukaku has stepped up his transfer wishes by telling his teammates he wants to leave for Chelsea.
According to the Daily Mail, Lukaku has told his Goodison Park colleagues that he believes he now has a better chance at locking down first team football at Chelsea. With the out of sorts Diego Costa seemingly wishing for his own move away from Chelsea and back to Spain and Atletico Madrid, Lukaku sees it as his chance to shine under new Chelsea boss Antonio Conte.
Chelsea have already seen a reported offer of £68 million for the 23-year-old rejected by the Toffees and it is understood that the Merseyside club are holding out for an incredible £75 million, a mere £4 million shy of the price paid by Serie A champions Juventus for Gonzalo Higuain last month.
Everton are keen to hold on to the Belgium international who initially arrived on loan from Chelsea back in 2013, before making the permanent switch one season later. Majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri has reportedly approved a new contract extension, which includes a significant pay rise for the striker, but it appears that Lukaku has his sights set on a return to London.
It now comes down to just what the Liverpool club can earn from their star striker’s return trip to Stamford Bridge. If a deal is done it is fair to say that whatever the final figure agreed is, it will be a huge return on the investment Everton made only two seasons ago.
